James Horsfield and Stephen Humphrys attend local school visit
Iron first team players James Horsfield and Stephen Humphrys both visited Oasis Academy Henderson Avenue last Thursday afternoon.
They arrived at one of the schools that are partnered with the SUFC Trust, who deliver PE sessions to primary school children.
The midfielder and forward both got involved in a different sport on this occasion, as the young learners were practising their basketball skills. The duo got involved on their own individual team before posing for a group photo at the end of the session.
The PFA’s Community Liason Executive and former Scunthorpe United midfielder Dennis Leman was present for the visit as he observed the player visit before asking the duo to complete a questionnaire on the club’s involvement within the community and the importance of it.
Leman, who played 38 times for the Iron between 1982 and 1984, scoring three goals, made a similar visit last season when former striker Paddy Madden visited the club’s summer soccer camps.
