EFL Trust Futsal Cup Quarter Final squad announced

James Moody Futsal, News 2018-19, Futsal, March 2019, SUFC Futsal

Ahead of today’s EFL Trust Futsal Cup Quarter Final, the travelling squad to face Grimsby Town ‘B’ has been announced.

The Iron’s Futsal team progressed to the latest stage of the competition following a 100% record in the Group Stage.

The side brushed aside Stoke City (13-2) and Brighton & Hove Albion (9-2) in 2018, before overcoming Cardiff City (7-5) and Cheltenham Town (11-3) in the second wave of fixtures in January to seal their progression to the latter stages.

Ashley Simpson came through the group stages of the competition as United’s top goalscorer with ten goals to his name, while Jordan Spencer got seven goals across the four fixtures. Also amongst the squad are Kurt Robinson, Morgan Smith, both of whom got five strikes in the Group Stage, while Jonty Jackson – who also netted five – misses out.

Below is the side to face the Mariners’ ‘B’ side in Birmingham…

George Drewery, Jake Harris, Ryan Farnham, Kurt Robinson, Jonty, Jackson, Morgan Smith, Jordan Spencer, Ollie Steele, Tom Sturman, Ashley Simpson.

It all starts at YES! Futsal side edged out by Grimsby Town in Futsal Cup QF
