Scholars to represent Iron in CEFA league

James Moody Football, News 2020-21, CEFA, September 2020

Following the announcement last year that the Scunthorpe and Education Academy was moving away from Futsal, we are delighted to confirm that two teams will be competing in the Community and Education Football Alliance in 2020-21.

Matches get underway at the end of September, with our ‘A’ team being placed in the North East Central League, while our ‘B’ team will be playing their matches in the North Central League Two.

The Community & Education Football Alliance (CEFA) is a football competition run for EFL Club Community Organisations, featuring teams representing Premier League and EFL Clubs across the country.

It is the only competition for EFL Club Community Organisations with club names, official kits and associated club support.

Eligible for both men and women, the league offers playing opportunities for young people of all abilities, as well as the opportunity to play football in a league competition governed professionally by the EFL. The competition also has both separate Men and Women’s Regional & National Cup competition.

Any player registered on a post-16 education course with their Club Community Organisation is eligible to play in the CEFA league.

The competition is aimed at providing competitive playing opportunities for young people with a passion for football as well as help them achieve their education goals, through football.
