Matchday #6: CEFA Results

James Moody Football, News 2020-21, December 2020, Football

The ‘B’ team was back in action for the final time in 2020 as they took part in the Men’s Cup.

In what was an eight-goal thriller, the Iron once led and thrice came from behind to register a point against Sheffield Wednesday ‘B’ away from home.

The team lead 1-0 early on through a goal from Jac Sanderson, before the Owls hit back almost 20 minutes later to make it 1-1. Sheffield Wednesday would complete the turnaround to go 2-1 before Ollie Kirwan struck the first of his brace to send both teams in level at the interval.

12 minutes into the second half, Wednesday retook the lead, but Kirwan quickly restored parity to make it 3-3 just a couple of minutes later.

20 minutes later, the Owls went back in front, but once again they showed their vulnerability after scoring, with Lewis Bramley netting the equaliser once more to make it 4-4. With about 15 minutes left, there were no further goals in the game.
