Matchday #8: CEFA Results

James Moody Football, News 2020-21, CEFA

The ‘B’ team was back in action as they took part in the Men’s Cup.

In what was an 16-goal thriller, the Iron twice trailed in the game to win 10-6 against Fleetwood Town ‘B’ at Brumby Hall on Wednesday.

The team trailed early on before a quick fire goal from Conor Jarman put the side level before Lucas Hunsley scored the second to make it 2-1. The Cod Army quickly responded themselves to draw the scores level and then found themselves ahead shortly after following a mix-up at the back.

Charlie Shapland equalised before the break to send the two sides in 3-3 at the interval.

The Iron came out firing, with Ollie Kirwan (two), Andrew Button, Jack Fell, Jarman and Finley Turner racing the team in to a 9-3 lead.

Fleetwood got two quick goals back before Josh Haigh’s rocket proved too hot to handle as United got into double figures.

The away side would get one more goal back to make it 10-6, but time soon ran out.
