Adam Kelsey and George Hornshaw visit Futsal first-year scholars on #EFLDayofAction
Goalkeeper Adam Kelsey and midfielder George Hornshaw visited the Futsal first-year scholars to provide inspiration, on a nationwide #EFLDayofAction.
The pair took time during their regular training day to head upstairs to the Study Centre, located within Glanford Park, to speak with the first-year scholars, who are nearly half way through studying for a NCFE Level Three Extended Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity (Sports Coaching) with Futsal (worth up to three A-Levels).
The group also represent the club in the EFL Trust Futsal League, along with other cup competitions throughout the course of the season at various locations around the UK.
The United pair were both available to answer any questions thrown their way during the visit, while they learned about the course themselves from Futsal Scholarship Teacher Wayne Johnson.
Following the visit, Futsal Scholarship Manager Gav Cooper said: “As always, we are very grateful for members of the Scunthorpe United team to take time to visit our first and second year scholars. On this occasions, we are thankful for Adam and George’s time with our first years as they visited them in a classroom environment.
“We’ve had a great amount of success on the course in recent years and it’s gone from strength-to-strength in terms of interest. We’re already looking to recruit new scholars for the 2019-20 season and this course provides a fantastic alternative to attending college and still provides a distinctive pathway towards university, which can also be provided by the SUFC Trust.”
