‘A’ team end Grimsby Town ‘A’s’ unbeaten run

James Moody Futsal, News 2018-19, Futsal, March 2019, SUFC Futsal

The Iron’s ‘A’ Futsal side have ended local rivals Grimsby Town ‘A’ unbeaten run after a 17-goal thriller at Sheffield Ponds Forge.

A hat-trick from Ashley Simpson, braces from Kurt Robinson and Morgan Smith and goals from Jordan Spencer and Jonty Jackson edged the encounter which finished 9-8 to Scunthorpe.

That came following a 6-1 victory over the ‘B’ team just an hour prior. Ashley Simpson bagged another hat-trick in that game, while Kurt Robinson and Jordan Spencer (2) also netted to complete the 100% win on the day.

Meanwhile, the Iron’s ‘B’ team were edged out 4-3 against Grimsby Town ‘C’ with Ryan Farnham, Max Weatherell and Ethan Lowndes getting the goals.
