Futsal C Team fall just short of National League final

James Moody Futsal, News 2018-19, Futsal, May 2019, SUFC Futsal

The Iron’s Futsal C Team got through to the semi-final of the Nationals at the Birmingham Futsal Arena, falling just short.

After seeing off Bristol City E 4-3, the side had all but secured their progression from their group following the no-show of Mansfield Town. Despite a 4-1 defeat against Oldham Athletic A, the side were through to the quarter-finals.

United brushed aside Bristol City H, who had topped Group D to get through, by five-goals-to-one to set up the semi-final against Exeter City C.

Despite taking the lead, the Grecians responded to go through to the final 3-1.

Elsewhere, the D side failed to escape their group despite registering a 3-3 draw in their opening fixture against Preston North End.

Defeats against Bristol City F (5-1) and Grimsby Town D (3-1) meant that it was the end of the road for the side.

Side finish as runners-up in EFL Trust Futsal Trophy May half term soccer course details
