Abo Eisa, Manny Onariase and Kenan Dünnwald-Turan assist with Christmas parcel deliveries

United trio Abo Eisa, Manny Onariase and Kenan Dünnwald-Turan journeyed to Westcliff on Tuesday afternoon, assisting with the delieries of Christmas packages from Ongo and The Arc to families in need.

The trio visited The Arc to collect the packages for selected families in the Westcliff areas, delivering them with the staff from Ongo.

With donations from Tesco Express Westcliff, 2 Sisters Food Group, Co-op, Taylor’s Family Butchers, Westcliff Community Association, the Ongo UK Christmas fund (Cash for Kids Mission Christmas) and Scunthorpe United, the packages will provide that little extra support at a difficult time of the year, even more so following a tough few months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In total, 110 people in the local community have been helped as part of the scheme.

A number of families spoke following their donation. Lesley said: “Just had Ongo and Scunthorpe United players deliver Bredon and I a Christmas hamper full of presents and chocolates. Feeling overwhelmed I started to cry thank you so much.”

Emma said: “It’s so lovely, thank you to everybody involved.”

Kelly said: “I got my hamper delivered from The Arc and Scunthorpe United, thank you so much it’s a great surprise.”
